Mr. Lanzillo has extensive experience in complex commercial, employment and civil rights litigation and appellate practice. He has lectured extensively on state and federal trial and appellate practice, as well as municipal, labor and commercial law topics. Mr. Lanzillo is admitted to practice before the state courts of Pennsylvania and several federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third, Ninth and Federal Circuits. He also regularly serves as a mediator and neutral evaluator in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Lanzillo currently serves as the Vice President of Knox.

Recent Accomplishments

  • Successful defenses of corporation and individual directors against claims under federal securities laws
  • Successful defense of corporation against federal Lanham Act claims alleging violation of trademark rights
  • Successful trial and summary judgment defense of numerous civil rights claims under 28 U.S.C. § 1983, including a recent successful appeal on behalf of the Erie Housing Authority
  • Successful jury trial defense of corporate clients in complex breach of contract case arising out of multiple-year product development and manufacturing process design project
  • Successful trial and summary judgment defense of numerous Title VII and PHRA discrimination and harassment claims
  • Successful trial and appellate defense of First Amendment and other claims asserted by various individuals and the ACLU against a municipality
  • Successful prosecution of numerous employment contract and restrictive covenant disputes
