Joy E. Sadaly
Ms. Sadaly focuses her practice in the areas of business & tax, health law, and intellectual property & technology. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sadaly completed two externships with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Physician Services Division, clerked for the Honorable Judge Mary Jane Bowes in the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, and interned with a law firm in Pittsburgh where she analyzed legal issues affecting health care systems and physician practices. Recent Accomplishments
- Helping clients with business formation, organizational documents, and corporate transactions
- Assisting health care entities draft and negotiate physician services agreements, medical directorship agreements, management services agreements, employment and independent contractor agreements, leases, and business associate agreements
- Providing advice regarding liability under the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and False Claims Act to health care entities and providers
- Assisting health care entities in regulatory and compliance matters such as permitted disclosures under HIPAA and EMTALA requirements
- Assisting litigation teams with defense of medical malpractice actions, peer review actions, and qui tam False Claims Act lawsuits
- Counseling clients on intellectual property rights, including trademarks and the patentability of ideas, concepts, and methods
- Providing advice on business uses of technology and health information technology as well as drafting and negotiating technology agreements
