Mr. Yoars is a trial attorney concentrating in professional liability, complex and intellectual property litigation. He is licensed to practice in Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania. Previously, Mr. Yoars practiced for approximately 10 years in New York City Metropolitan Area where he was responsible for all aspects of litigation and case management on numerous matters including corporate litigation, employment discrimination, premises liability, Section 1983, civil rights, construction litigation, medical malpractice and professional liability.

While in law school, Mr. Yoars interned under Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. prosecuting environmental citizen suits and other matters under the Clean Water Act, Resources Conservation and Recovery Act, Toxic Substance Control Act, and Comprehensive Response Compensation and Liability Act.

Recent Accomplishments

  • Numerous successful federal and state trials, arbitration and mediations in complex litigation involving professional, medical and legal liability, commercial litigation, construction, environmental regulations, patents, trade secrets, contract disputes and products liability
  • Successfully obtained voluntary discontinuance by plaintiff after filing summary judgment motion on behalf of neurological surgeons in Propofol infusion syndrome case
  • Successfully defended and obtained case discontinuance (before depositions and discovery) in ventilator product liability matter, saving client (ventilator owner) time and money
  • Successfully defended and obtained case resolution (before depositions) at minimal costs for client who was sued for breach of contract, breach of warranty and engineering malpractice
  • Has litigated several medical malpractice cases filed against local hospitals and doctors that were discontinued or dismissed before commencement of costly trials due to lack of evidence and failure of plaintiff to be able to reach burden of proof
  • Successfully managed and litigated a civil rights and wrongful death action against several New York City agencies that entailed over 50 depositions and voluminous document production
  • $1.6 million plaintiff’s verdict in Labor Law action for minor traumatic brain injury
  • Litigated and settled several infant lead-poising cases, each resulting in over $1 million verdicts or settlements
  • Litigated and settled a toxic exposure products liability case resulting for over $1 million dollars
