Attorneys Mark T. Wassell and Julia M. Herzing, Shareholders at Knox Law, are speaking at an event on Thursday, March 15th in Brookville, PA. The event, hosted by the HR Association of North Central PA, starts at 8am at Heritage House. Pamela Watkins, HR and Employee Health and Safety Manager at Kraus USA, will also speak.

Attorney Wassell and Ms. Watkins will address "Hiring & Firing Employees" from both legal and HR perspectives. Attorney Herzing will present "Taking the Mystery Out of Employment-Related Claims: Minimizing Risks and Identifying Best Practices."

At Knox Law, Attorney Wassell counsels and defends employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. He represents employers in a range of sectors including manufacturing, financial services, healthcare and education. His practice includes hiring and termination issues, claims of discrimination and harassment, drug testing, employee handbooks, employment and severance agreements, grievance arbitration, and collective bargaining. He frequently handles matters before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board, and similar state agencies. He also conducts in house training programs for employers on a number of employment topics and speaks often to a variety of business and HR groups throughout northwestern Pennsylvania and beyond.

Attorney Herzing’s practice focuses on a variety of labor & employment matters, including litigation. She works with both private and public employers, counseling and representing clients on compliance with workplace laws, hiring and firing issues, collective bargaining, and defense of discrimination, wage and hour, and other employment-related claims. She also advises public and private educational institutions on Title IX matters, including investigations and responding to complaints.
