Posted on June 10, 2016

Thomas A. Tupitza, Richard A. Lanzillo and Timothy S. Wachter have each recently participated in successful Presidential searches at Westminster College, Mercyhurst University and Edinboro University, respectively.

Thomas (Tom) Tupitza

Thomas A. Tupitza, as a Trustee Westminster College, participated on the Search Committee for Westminster College's 15th President. Dr. Kathy Brittain Richardson’s appointment was approved unanimously on January 21, 2016 – the 164th anniversary of the College’s founding. She will be the College’s first female president when she assumes her role officially on July 1, 2016. Mr. Tupitza is an alumnus of Westminster College and has served on its Board of Trustees since 1999, including a term as Chair from 2012 to 2015.

Richard A. Lanzillo co-chaired a six month search for Mercyhurst University’s 12th president as part of his duties as the University’s Board of Trustees Chair-Elect. Michael T. Victor, J.D., LL.D. was chosen in May 2015 and took office on August 3, 2015. Mr. Lanzillo is an alumnus of Mercyhurst University (then College) and has served on the University’s Board since 2003. He was elected Chair-Elect last June.

Timothy (Tim) Wachter

Timothy S. Wachter participated on the Presidential Search Committee as Trustee at Edinboro University. After a five month long national search, the committee recommended two candidates to the Council of Trustees, which recommended the candidates to the State System of Higher Education’s Board of Governors. Dr. H. Fred Walker was then selected by the Board of Governors as the University’s 18th president on May 23, 2016. Dr. Walker will assume his role on July 1, 2016. Mr. Wachter previously served as Chair of the Triennial Presidential Review Committee for prior Edinboro University President, Dr. Julie Wollman.
