Knox Law Mourns Death of Harvey McClure
Harvey McClure died on July 28, 2018, having just celebrated his 97th birthday.
He became of counsel to Knox Law in 2006, joining his daughter Christine H. McClure and son-in-law R. Perrin Baker at the firm. He had been the longest-tenured member in the history of the Erie County Bar Association, with a distinguished and varied career not only in the practice of law but in military, civic, bar association, and public service. He was a lieutenant colonel in the Judge Advocate General Corps and recipient of the Army Bronze Star; was elected to the Erie School Board and the Pennsylvania House of Representatives; served as president of the Erie County Bar Association and in the House of Delegates and Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Bar Association; and was active in numerous charitable nonprofit organizations.
“No one was prouder than Harvey to be an Erie County lawyer,” said Knox Law President Thomas A. Tupitza. “We were honored that at the end of his career he was able to join the firm built by his East High friends John McLaughlin and Fletch Gornall and by others with whom he had enjoyed working relationships in his many civic endeavors.”
