Thomas C. Hoffman Speaks on Business Succession and the Family Private Equity Model
Thomas C. Hoffman, II will speak on Wednesday about business succession and the Family Private Equity Model. He will be the speaker at a lunch seminar hosted by the Community Foundation of Western PA & Eastern OH and the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce at BC3@LindenPointe in Hermitage.
The Family Private Equity Model allows a business owner to retain ownership while a new President takes over day-to-day operations. The model typically includes family corporate governance, professional management, and an independent board of directors. It can be a compelling option for small, family-owned businesses, especially when there is no clear successor.
At Knox Law, Mr. Hoffman concentrates his practice on closely held business planning, business succession planning, implementation of sophisticated estate and trust planning, administration of complex estates and trusts, and the tax consequences of these matters. He has represented many landowners and forest or timber-related businesses throughout his career, and has spoken at this conference twice before, and other similar conferences as well.
