Posted on July 23, 2019

Thomas (Tom) Hoffman

Thomas C. Hoffman, II, Shareholder, speaks in Alaska on Thursday, July 25, 2019 about business succession planning.

Mr. Hoffman, who is licensed to practice law in Alaska, along with Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio, will talk about "Business Succession Planning – The Family Private Equity Model: When Your Client’s Family Business Is Their Best Investment." He was invited to speak to a group of CPAs and other financial advisors through the Fairbanks Estate Planning Council and a state-wide CPA group.

The Family Private Equity Model is a business succession model in which a family-owned business preserves ownership with a family corporate governance model, using professional management and an independent board of directors.

At Knox Law, Mr. Hoffman concentrates his practice on closely held business planning, business succession planning, implementation of sophisticated estate and trust planning, administration of complex estates and trusts, and the tax consequences of these matters. He has represented many landowners and forest or timber-related businesses throughout his career, and has spoken at this conference twice before, and other similar conferences as well.
